Christmas Carol;

I wrote a four part Christmas carol, and my church choir performed it on Christmas Eve. It was an extremely cool thing (to me).

Here are the lyrics to it:

Lonely and bitter the night,
Shepherds lay huddled in fright,
When the angels cry seemed to split the sky
"The Messiah is given this night!"

(chorus)
Gloriah, oh gloriah,
Gloriah to God!
All the hopes of the ages are present in that baby!

Lonely and bitter the world.
Empty, the days are unfurled.
Still the angel's song rings out clear and strong
"The Messiah is given this night!"

(chorus)
Gloriah, oh gloriah,
Gloriah to God!
All the hopes of the ages are present in that baby!

Now, I don't suppose Keats is rolling in his grave, afraid of being knocked off his pedestal among wordsmiths. Still, I do like the double meaning of the word "present"; and I like the way the music works with the lyrics.

Hey, I'm proud of it....I'm allowed.
